CPT Policies at Avila University Arizona

In the graduate programs at Avila University, including the MBA, MS in Computer Science, and MS in Data Science, students eligible for CPT can avail of the Capstone Experience. Students have the option to enroll in either an Applied Research course or an Internship course as their Capstone Experience. For those opting to utilize CPT, participation in an internship course is mandatory in all semesters, including the Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions.

Each program is designed to span approximately 20-24 months, during which students are required to complete an internship course comprising 3-4 credits.

The University has very strict requirements for on-site attendance. Unexcused absences may fail to complete the course properly and affect student status in the United States.

Avila University has a great reputation. USCIS generally does not question the legitimacy of implementing a CPT in its program when reviewing its students’ H-1B applications.

CPT is allowed throughout the entire program and is free of charge.
Students can take 3 CPT credits in Year 1 and 3 CPT credits in Year 2.
