Monroe University (Formerly Monroe College) has several campuses across NYC, but currently, only the New Rochelle campus provides CPT programs for international students. New Rochelle campus is an excellent option for professional talents, conveniently located close to Manhattan. By taking the Northeast Regional Train, it takes only 35 minutes from Penn Station to New Rochelle. The New Rochelle station is within walking distance, providing easy access to New York City.

CPT Policies at Monroe University (formerly Monroe College)
- Monroe University (Formerly Monroe College) is an accredited university. It has 9 graduate-level programs that offer the CPT option.
- Monroe University adopts a hybrid teaching model for all of its CPT programs. Students must take six credits per semester to maintain their F-1 status. On-site attendance requirements vary by program, ranging from once per week to once per month.
- Monroe University is very strict regarding on-site attendance, which has contributed to its strong reputation among USCIS officers. Its students are rarely questioned when applying for an H-1B visa, although prior CPT usage may sometimes raise concerns.

CPT Renewal - every semester
Monroe gives students a choice to take a semester off after their 3 consecutive semesters. You will be able to extend your degree legally to utilize your working experience.
Due to program requirements, students in the MSITM and PMBA programs can apply for CPT authorization starting from their first semester and engage in either full-time or part-time work. The MSCS, MSCC, and MSDSAI programs allow students who have already obtained a Master's degree in the US to apply for CPT authorization from their first semester for either full-time or part-time work.
Students in these five programs can continuously apply for CPT during their studies without interruption. To utilize CPT, students need to enroll in the BA500 Graduate Management Externship Course (0 credits) every semester. CPT authorization needs to be renewed annually.
Day 1 CPT Class Requirement
Campbellsville University's graduate program is divided into three semesters in a year: Fall, Spring, and Summer. Each semester is further divided into two terms. Students in the Day-1 CPT program register for 6 credits each semester, which includes one 3-credit hybrid course and one 3-credit online course.
The hybrid course lasts for 16 weeks (2 terms) and has an in-person session over one weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Students who fail to attend will lose their F1 student status.

Students can apply for another 1-year OPT after graduating from the certificate program. To Apply for the Data Science Certificate at Monroe University, the applicants are required to have at least a master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or other related programs.
The certificate program requires 18 credit hours and the length of the program is one year. Students can apply for CPT while completing the certificate program. As the program is one level higher than master’s programs, the USCIS allows students to apply for OPT again after graduation. For the students who have already received a master’s degree in Computer Science or other related programs and have used up their OPT or STEM OPT, the advantage of this program is that they can work full-time under CPT while completing the program and are eligible to apply for another year of OPT after graduation.
As this certificate program is one level higher compared to a master's program, it has higher requirements for applicants. The applicants are required to have at least a master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or other related fields to apply for the Data Science Certificate program.

Using criminal investigation tools and techniques, this course provides students with the basic understanding of how crime scene analysis, deconstruction, and reconstruction are used to profile serial offenders. After receiving the acceptance letter, confirm with your advisor the SEVIS transfer time and fill out the SEVIS transfer form to transfer SEVIS from your original school to Ottawa University.
Students can submit their CPT application at any time after receiving their admission. Application materials include:
- Paid admission deposit (non-refundable).
- The student has completed registration.
- The student's SEVIS record has been released to Monroe University.
