Day 1 CPT Universities Application Guides - University of the Cumberlands
Step 1: Choose your Student Status
You can select the following academic status for the Day 1 CPT Program:

An Undergraduate with a high school diploma or GED

A Graduate Student with a college degree
Step 2: Select your Program Date
Please DO NOT select a 100% online schedule due to USCIS requiring students to have at least 8 hours of onsite class with the attending university. In addition, kindly select a university term that is most compatible with you.
Step 3: Create an Account and Set up your Password
Access the University of the Cumberlands’ online Application Portal and select “Create an account.”
Fill in your Email Address and your Name.
- Please enter an email address that can best reach out to you. After that, you should receive an email address that includes a temporary password to activate your account.
- It is important to create a strong and secure password and to keep it in a safe location to ensure its protection.
Step 4: Start a New Application
You can access the application portal now if you complete the above step accurately. Now, you can go ahead and start a new application.
Step 5: Welcome Questions
Kindly answer whether you have attended or completed any course at the University of the Cumberlands.
***Note: If you seek to obtain F-1 status, please note that the University of the Cumberlands DOES NOT provide a change of status I-20s or accept terminated SEVIS records. To obtain F-1 status, students must obtain an initial I-20 and go through the process of F-1 visa stamping.
Step 6: Fill in your Personal Information
In this section, you will need to enter the following information:
- Name filed: this includes your first and last name. Also, have your suffix.
- Address filed: this section includes your permanent address and your mailing address.
- Phone number: Please provide a phone number where we can reach you if there are any updates regarding the information.
- Biographical Information: this section includes your gender, birthday, and birth country.
- Citizenship Information: You will be asked to provide details about your primary citizenship and any secondary citizenship you may hold. You will also need to indicate if you are eligible for U.S. Permanent Resident status and provide your Social Security Number (SSN) if applicable. Additionally, you will be required to provide information about your current Visa Type. Lastly, you will need to select the Race/Ethnicity option that best describes you.

In the Residency Course Site field, you must select the best location to attend during your residency weekend.
***Note: Attendance at one three-day offline course per semester (usually on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) is required. Students who fail to attend will lose their F1 student status.
For your F-1 Student Information, please enter your SEVIS ID number if you have one. Also, please answer if you plan to participate in any CPT during your first semester and did you registered for courses at the institution on your visa.
Step 8: School History
To complete this section, kindly provide your emergency contact details.
Additionally, please provide information on the most convenient means of contacting you, your clothing size, how you got to know about the University of the Cumberlands, and what inspired you to apply to this institution. Lastly, kindly fill out the confidential information section.
Step 9: University Agreement
Please read the University Agreement carefully to protect your rights best to attend the University of the Cumberlands.
Step 10: Submit Application
After thoroughly reviewing your application, you may proceed to submit it.

Documentation of Language Fluency
Language FLuency tests can be chosen from the following:

English3 Proficiency Test (E3PT) with a score of 62 or higher

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination with a score of 65 or higher,

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination with a 5.5 or higher, or the Duolingo examination with a 100 or higher.

*Note: US transfer students with 30+ credits and a satisfactory GPA can waive the language fluency test for admission.

Declaration of Finance
To be eligible for tuition and school fees, it is necessary to demonstrate financial capability with a minimum of $35,000.
*Note: Each applicant may require a different number depending on their chosen major.
