Master of Business Administration

Lamar University’s MBA program is designed for students who want to build a strong foundation in business management while developing practical skills for career growth. The curriculum combines core business knowledge with experiential learning, helping students apply what they learn to real-world business challenges. Through the program, students strengthen key competencies in leadership, teamwork, ethical decision-making, problem-solving, and global business strategy.

The Lamar MBA is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), an accreditation held by fewer than 5% of business schools worldwide. This adds an extra layer of credibility for students who are looking for a recognized and career-focused MBA program.

Students who earned a business degree from an AACSB-accredited institution may be eligible to waive the leveling courses. For students without prior undergraduate business coursework, the program may require up to 36 semester hours, including two leveling courses, seven core courses, and three elective courses for a concentration. Depending on previous academic credits, one or both leveling courses may be waived.

The program follows Lamar University’s semester structure. Fall and Spring semesters are approximately four months each, while the Summer semester is shorter, lasting about two months.
