Boost your skills and start a successful career in business analytics with a Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) from the University of California, Riverside (UCR). Today, companies have access to a lot of data about customers, costs, and suppliers. This makes skilled business analysts essential for gathering, cleaning, visualizing, analyzing, and evaluating data to guide important decisions. UCR’s business analytics degree is a challenging STEM program offered by the School of Business and the Department of Statistics. This collaboration enhances your ability to use data effectively for decision-making. The MSBA program covers key tools like data visualization, predictive analytics, data mining, and artificial intelligence, preparing you to manage and analyze data for valuable insights. These hands-on courses will help you drive data-based decisions and make a significant impact in the competitive business world.

F1 students are required to take 2 courses per semester to maintain their full-time student status. 1 of them is online, and the other one is on-site.
Online course takes place every week, usually scheduled on a weekday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

The University has very strict requirements for on-site attendance. Unexcused absences may fail to complete the course properly and affect student status in the United States.
UC Riverside has a great reputation. USCIS generally does not question the legitimacy of implementing a CPT in its program when reviewing its students’ H-1B applications.

Onsite courses usually last for 3 consecutive days and are usually at the beginning and end of the course.

Campbellsville University, in accordance with USCIS regulations, grants CPT work authorization to students. Typically, international students need to be enrolled for over a year before they can apply for CPT.

Due to program requirements, students in the MSITM and PMBA programs can apply for CPT authorization starting from their first semester and engage in either full-time or part-time work. The MSCS, MSCC, and MSDSAI programs allow students who have already obtained a Master's degree in the US to apply for CPT authorization from their first semester for either full-time or part-time work.

Students in these five programs can continuously apply for CPT during their studies without interruption. To utilize CPT, students need to enroll in the BA500 Graduate Management Externship Course (0 credits) every semester. CPT authorization needs to be renewed annually.

Day 1 CPT at Campbellsville University

Day 1 CPT Class Requirement

Campbellsville University's graduate program is divided into three semesters in a year: Fall, Spring, and Summer. Each semester is further divided into two terms. Students in the Day-1 CPT program register for 6 credits each semester, which includes one 3-credit hybrid course and one 3-credit online course.

The hybrid course lasts for 16 weeks (2 terms) and has an in-person session over one weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Students who fail to attend will lose their F1 student status.

Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) [STEM]

MSBA candidates will take the required courses specified below for a total of 36 units. Of these required courses, some courses will depend on your background and preferences.

All MSBA students must take the following required MSBA courses:

MGT 256 Business Analytics for Management
STAT 208 Statistical Data Mining
STAT 232 Statistics for Business Analytics
MGT 286A Capstone in Business Analytics
MGT 286B Capstone in Business Analytics

Candidates who come from a business or other STEM-related undergraduate degree program will be placed on a Statistics Track and will select courses from the following options.

Choose any one from the following four courses (MGT 202, MGT 204, MGT 207, MGT 209):

MGT 202 Financial Management
or
MGT 204 Cost and Management Accounting
or
MGT 207 Operations Management**
or
MGT 209 Marketing Management*

Choose between the following courses (MGT 2019 and MGT 267):

MGT 219 Spreadsheet Modeling
or
MGT 267 Applied Business Forecasting
STAT 200 Foundational Methods for Business Analytics
STAT 206 Statistical Computing

Candidates who come from a statistics undergraduate degree program will be placed on a Business track and will take the following courses:

MGT 202 Financial Management
MGT 204 Cost and Management Accounting
MGT 207 Operations Management for Competitive Advantage**
MGT 209 Marketing Management*

*Please note that MGT 209 is a prerequisite for the marketing analytics concentration. **Please note that MGT 207 is a prerequisite for the supply chain analytics concentration

After Enrollment - CPT Application

After receiving the acceptance letter, confirm the SEVIS transfer time with your advisor and fill out the SEVIS transfer form to transfer SEVIS from your original school to UC Riverside.

Students can submit their CPT application at any time after receiving their admission. Application materials include:

Paid admission deposit (non-refundable).
The student has completed registration.
The student's SEVIS record has been released to UC Riverside.
