It’s Official:  2024FY H1B Second Lottery Is Here!

USCIS finally announced that the second lottery is on the way. Those who entered the 2024 FY H1B lottery now have a second chance!

What do you need to know about the second lottery:

1.     Do I need to register again?

Nope. If you have entered the 1st round lottery, you will be automatically included in the poll.

2.     I missed the first application deadline; can I enter the race now?

Nope. The second lottery is only applicable to those who have entered the race in March this year.

3.     What are the odds?

Available slots for the second round:

85,000 – 110,791*40% = 40,684 

If the second round of the lottery is randomly drawn from the unselected applications from the first round, the probability of being selected is:

40,684 / (758,994 – 110,791) = 6.3%

4.     What to do if I Didn’t Get Selected Again?
