Application Materials Checklist

Step 1: Set up your Application Account

Enter the application portal and “Choose your campus”

• If you reside in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas, select the Costa Mesa Campus.

• If you reside in the Bay Area and the surrounding areas, select the Palo Alto Campus.

  *Note: International students can not choose the “online” option, due to the F1 status maintaining requirement.

Step 2: Fill in Personal Information

• If you are currently in the United States and your F1 status is still active, choose F-1 Transfer.

• If you have not entered the United States yet, but have an active F1 status, choose F-1.

Step 3: Fill in Personal Information

Fill in the U.S. Residential Address and Valid Mailing Address.

If the mailing address is the same as the residential address, you can select "Copy Home Address Into Mail Address."

Step 4: Complete the education, academic background, and additional information section

Fill in Educational Background & Additional Information Provide relevant information about the most recent degree obtained. The university may later request official transcripts for the corresponding degree.

If there is no employer information in the Additional Information section, you can leave it blank for now.

Application Materials Checklist

• Online Application Form （STEP 1-4）

• Personal Statement (minimum of 750 words)

• Letters of Recommendation

• Transcripts (If they are from a non-U.S. institution, they need to be certified by an authorized organization).

• Language Proficiency (Can be waived if your previous degree is obtained from a U.S. institution).

• $200 Acceptance Fee

• Proof of Finances (Provide a bank statement dated within the last six months, showing a minimum balance of $26,012).

• Affidavit of Support (If using assets held by someone other than the applicant, this form needs to be completed).

• Passport.

• Current I-20 Visa (not applicable if you are an initial F1 applicant).

• Current I-94 (not applicable if you are an initial F1 applicant).

• EAD Card (Some applicants may need to provide this).

*Note: Official transcripts must be sent to registrar@sofia.edu or mailed to Sofia University Registrar Office, 1069 East Meadow Cr. Palo Alto CA, 94303.
