Trine University was founded as Tri-State Normal College in 1884. With more than 130 years of history, the School of Engineering at Trine is recognized as one of the finest engineering schools in the country. Over the past eight years, more than 99% of Trine’s graduates have been employed or enrolled in graduate school within six months of graduation. Student-to-faculty ratio is 16:1 at Trine University, which means students can get personal support from their advisors as they design their career path.

Trine University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. By Indiana law, Trine is an "approved postsecondary educational institution" under Indiana code 1C 21-7-13-6.

Trine University has many campuses, and two of them have day 1 CPT programs, namely the Detroit Education Center and the Phoenix Education Center. The former is located near the Henry Ford Museum, merely a 20-minute drive to the center of Detroit and a 15-minute drive to Detroit Metropolitan Airport. The latter is located near Phoenix Airport. Trine University is planning to further expand its campus and add a new location in D.C.

Get an employment letter from your employer. The letter must contain the following information: dates of training; job description; the number of hours you will be working per week
Select a 0. 5 credit hour CPT course
DSO will check your materials and update your I-20 info
Once you receive the new I-20
Remember to renew your CPT annually!

👉Trine University has 3 semesters each year: Fall, Spring, and Summer. Summer semester is 2 months; Fall & Spring semesters are 3.5 months.

👉To maintain F1 status, International students have to register for 2 courses (1 onsite course + 1 online course), and 6 units for every semester.

👉Onsite course requires students to attend class on campus once per semester, the onsite class will take place on weekends, (one day in the weekend) from 8 am to 5 pm.

📌Trine University is planning to change the onsite frequency to twice a semester

📌Student must attend the onsite course. If not, you will lose your F1 visa

👉Except for the specific day you attend the class onsite, the other class are fully online. You could attend the class on Trine University's online learning system. Some of the classes are on Zoom but most are prerecorded or there is a zoom discussion you can choose from.

👉During the summer semester, students are eligible to apply for a break, students of the summer term still can choose 0.5 credit hours for CPT, then are able to work full time during the summer break.

CPT Program - MBA

- Competitively priced, the MBA program at Trine University provides a unique experience and exceptional networking opportunities for international students to develop their careers and life in America.

- The MBA program requires students to complete 30 credit hours of classes, including 21 credits of core courses and 9 concentration courses. Tuition: Starting in 2023, Trine University charges $575/credit hour for the MBA program, which brings the total tuition fee to $17,250.
