Tennessee Wesleyan University CPT Policies
Tennessee Wesleyan University can authorize its international students for a full-time CPT in accordance with USCIS regulations. International students (including Transfer F1 and Initial F1 students) can apply to work on CPT from the first day of enrollment. Students need to renew their CPT every semester.
If the students do not have a job, they still need to take CPT course to prepare for the future career.
- The school allows students to obtain CPT work authorization on the first day and will send out a CPT renewal notification at the end of each semester.
- You can use the CPT from the orientation date (30 days before the class start)
- TWU has no deadline for the CPT application.
- There are 3 semesters in a year for Day 1 CPT Programs at Tennessee Wesleyan University: Fall, Spring and Summer.
- 7 credit hours. 1 online course (3 credits), 1 residency course (3 credits), 1 INTR (Applied Learning Practicum/Internship) (1 credit). Students can take additional courses to finish the program in 1 year.
- In each semester, international students must register for at least 2 courses (6 credits; including one online course and one hybrid course)
- Onsite frequency: 1 required residency session per semester. In-person sessions will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday one time per semester.
- Students may make up no more than one (1) residency session throughout the duration of their academic program. Missing a second residency will result in the student being dismissed from the University. A missed session will result in the student attending a make-up session and paying a $300 Residency Make-Up fee. In addition, the student may be asked for documentation from the program department providing an explanation as to why the scheduled residency session was missed. Make-Up sessions must be completed prior to the end of the term.
NOTE: Tennessee Wesleyan University has one of the lowest RFE rates among all Day 1 CPT universities. It is highly recommended for international students who plan to stay in the U.S. for the long run.
